It did not come without a scare however as Reardon overcame a slip at the start to qualify for the Men's 100m T63 final, to be held on Monday night at 9.33pm.
With the first three from the heat automatic qualifiers, Reardon was left to settle for fourth. His time of 12.80 seconds, however, was enough to get him through to the final, where he has qualified as seventh fastest.
Reardon's Paralympic record of 12.26 was broken in his heat by Brazil's Vinicius Goncalves Rodrigues, who recorded a time of 12.11.
Reardon was thankful to have overcome the scare.
'I just scraped my toe on the way through. The blocks here are a little bit different...I couldn't get it down to the level I wanted to," Reardon told Channel Seven after the race.
"Look, no excuse. I'm better than that. You live and you learn, don't you. You don't win finals in heats but you have to get to the big dance. That should be enough."
It was enough and Reardon is now confident of a strong showing in the final as he looks to defend his title from the Rio Paralympics in 2016.
"Normally you go down when you do that. I'm better than that I shouldn't make those mistakes. We'll tidy that up for the final and will go alright," he told Channel Seven.
"We'll give it a fair crack (on Monday). The boys just ran faster. I honestly knew that the Paralympic record would go in that one there, I just would have liked to have been up front doing it but that's alright, to trip over and still run 12.8's not bad."
Reardon is over in Tokyo with his wife Vanessa Low.
The German-born athlete will represent Australia in the Women's Long Jump T61.
Low is the current record holder and a Paralympic gold and sliver medallist. She competes in her event on Thursday.
