The Boiled Lollies are unbeaten, with 19-0 win over Griffith the closest result they've had all season.
However no premiership would be awarded if restrictions are not lifted by September 12.
Declaring himself ever the optimist, Schreiber is already planning for a return to action next week in line with the current regional lockdown expiring on Saturday.
"You have to be positive," Schreiber said.
"Obviously we're looking forward to a finals series as after all the effort the boys have put in after all the ups and downs with COVID last year and then again this year it would be a shame if you get this close to the end and then have the carpet pulled out from underneath you."

Southern Inland have unveiled three scenarios, depending on when restrictions end, for a grand final to be played before the end of September in order for a team to take the title.
Schreiber is hoping it doesn't come to that, saying it would be a bitter pill to swallow.
"We would like to be able to reward the club, the supporters and everyone else by putting on a show and potentially get another premiership," he said.
"The men have built a good culture around the club, we've set some high expectations so to have it taken out of our hands by external factors like that would be quite disappointing, if it eventuates."
Waratahs coach Michael Davis is also hopeful they will be given the chance to get one over Wagga City for the first time in two years.
The Wagga rivals are drawn to face off in the first week of finals and he hopes restrictions ease in time for the full finals series to be completed.
"It doesn't worry us who we play, we just have to play who is in front of you," Davis said. "The best thing for City and us is we finished one and two so we could just play a grand final and it's more disappointing for the likes of Griffith and Tumut if the lockdown extends and we come out of it as they might miss a chance for a crack at it."
