The Wagga club will finish in fifth spot, one point clear of Temora.
The Dragons lost the opportunity to play their last two games, against the top two sides Southcity and Tumut, due to the statewide lockdown.
Courtesy of their win over Brothers on Saturday, which had started just before the snap lockdown was announced, the Wagga side has just done enough to earn their finals berth.
The Dragons have the better points differential meaning Kangaroos would have missed out if they had of lost to Brothers at Laurie Daley Oval or if the game was unable to be played.
Coach Simon Woolford is hoping to make the most of their chance.
However he admitted it's a difficult situation with some much uncertainty lying ahead.
"It's just an unfortunate scenario for everyone really not knowing," Woolford said.
"When we know we are back and getting ready for a semi-final we will worry about it then but at the moment it is a bit all over the shop."

It will be the first time Kangaroos have played finals in five years.
They haven't made it past the first week of finals since 2014.
Woolford sent out training programs to players on Monday in a bid to keep their fitness up.
"They know what they need to do and we have to prepare like like we are doing to come back," Woolford said. "It is up to those guys really with what they do and don't do but I'm hopeful the majority of them do the right thing.
"We have to plan like we're coming back even though it is going to be hard to do. That's just how we have to look at it at the moment."
He's hoping it can help them prepare for a elimination final with Gundagai.
The Tigers took a 44-12 win when the two teams met at Anzac Park earlier this month.
Group Nine will meet on Thursday night to consider their options.
However they will ultimately be guided by government advice.
Kangaroos also benefit from having their team based in Wagga.
A number of their rivals have a travelling contingent which only adds another dimension to the uncertainty.
Woolford hopes some sort of conclusion can be found on the field.
"Canberra is going to becoming out of lockdown at a different date to what NSW is so it's another things club have to deal with," he said.
"It's just an unfortunate scenario as we got this far into the season unaffected.
"It is disappointing and I just hope the Group can come up with a plan to get some kind of closure and finish the season.
"It would be disappointing to stop now.
"Teams have put in the hard work and are going to be in semis it would be disappointing not to get an opportunity to finish the season off but it is out of our control."
