TURVEY Park coach Michael Mazzocchi has urged officials to consider holding a six-team finals series should next week's last round be scrapped after their win over Wagga Tigers kept their hopes alive.

The Bulldogs' 9.9 (63) to 8.8 (56) win at Robertson Oval puts them just a win behind fifth-placed Collingullie-Glenfield Park, who went down to Mangoplah-Cookardinia United-Eastlakes by 70 points.
Given Turvey Park has a better percentage than the Demons, a win over Griffith in the final round and a Tigers victory against Collingullie-Glenfield Park would catapult them into the top five.
But after a snap statewide seven-day lockdown was issued from 5pm on Saturday, whether the final round goes ahead is in doubt.
Should it not be played, Mazzocchi believes back-to-back wins over top three sides in the Tigers and Goannas should give officials reason to consider a six-team finals format.
"We've done what we've had to do, our season is alive now. We go into that last round, hopefully at some stage, knowing we have to win and if we get another result go our way we'll play finals," Mazzocchi said.
"Otherwise (if it isn't played) I'm hoping AFL Riverina will do a top six. I see other leagues have opened up the finals (for more teams), so hopefully there'll be a top six regardless.
"That's our thoughts, we're alive and it would be a shame for that chance to be taken away from us. We've beaten Mango (MCUE) who are second, we've beaten Tigers who are third, so we know what we can do. We're not just taking up a spot and are a genuine chance."
After poor losses to the Demons and Leeton-Whitton, the Bulldogs have found their mojo and hope COVID won't derail their hopes.
The Tigers looked set to end their chances after they scored three unanswered goals in the first quarter, but the Bulldogs responded to take the lead for the first time midway through the third term.

Luke Fellows kicked two of his three goals in the third quarter to give the Dogs a ten-point lead at the last break, but the Tigers responded to draw level 14 minutes into the last term.
However a superb goal from Tom Yates in his first game from a two-month injury layoff ensured Turvey Park exacted revenge for a derby loss to the Tigers at Maher Oval earlier this year.
The Tigers remain third, but are just a win ahead of Coolamon who were due to host Ganmain-Grong Grong-Matong in Sunday's now-postponed clash.
"Our team six weeks ago, when we got three goals down heads would drop and that's game over. But we now have belief," Mazzocchi said.
"You put those six or eight (recruits unavailable due to lockdowns) in there, we're going to be a pretty dangerous side if we play finals."
The Tigers' loss was compounded by a knee injury to Josh Staines, who was stretchered off the ground in the second half.
