The Murrumbidgee Local Health District has confirmed there are no new cases of COVID-19 in Wagga or across its jurisdiction, despite the ongoing spread of the virus forcing more and more locations into snap lockdowns.
The update comes after Canberra's first positive COVID case in more than a year forced the nation's capital into a seven-day lockdown from 5pm on Thursday.
The positive case was announced on Thursday morning and 14 exposure sites have been identified as a result.

The ACT has since declared all of NSW a "COVID-19 affected area", meaning Riverina residents who need to enter the ACT for essential work or healthcare reasons will be required to seek an exemption.
Only residents living in approved NSW postcodes surrounding the ACT can enter the territory for essential work and healthcare reasons.
The MLHD said ACT Health was managing the contact tracing of the Canberra case announced on Thursday.
The MLHD's director of public health, Tracey Oakman, said the public health unit may be contacted by ACT Health if there were contacts identified who are in the region and "need additional support, such as assistance with accessing testing".
ACT Health has been contacted for comment.
