The Wagga side hasn't won since scoring a 36-10 victory over winless Brothers on June 26.
The teams will meet for the third time on Saturday and Kangaroos are hoping it can provide the spark they need following a 44-12 loss to fourth-placed Gundagai.
However coach Simon Woolford knows they need to make up a lot of ground in the short period of time.
"We're just off the pace," Woolford said.
"They (Gundagai) are a good team who are experienced with some old heads in their team.
"We matched them in patches but it was small patches.
"At the back end of the first half we started to play some good footy and early in the second half we had an opportunity in their own end but we coughed the ball up, conceded a soft try from a scrum and it's groundhog day really.
"There are bits and pieces of good stuff but too much of it is way off where we need to be."

Gundagai scoring off Kangaroos errors was the real pattern of the game.
The Wagga side put themselves under plenty of pressure and struggled to defend it as the Tigers crossed nine times.
The Kangaroos attack has also dried up and there weren't many positive signs it will improve any time soon.
They've only scored 22 points in their last six games and the 12 they came up with on Saturday won't be worrying any of the premiership contenders at this stage.
The first was a 90-metre intercept try to James Strickland to see Kangaroos trail 20-6 at half-time before Tyler Jones stepped through the line with three minutes to play.
Jake Mascini is one key playmaker who is set to return to take on Brothers, as will Hayden Jolliffe in the forward pack.
Woolford, who will not have a second season as Kangaroos coach, is confident the club didn't add to their injury list.
He hopes having more players back will help chase down Temora, who have a much tougher run into the finals, to play finals.
