Searching for their seventh win in nine games, the Demons (8-5) ambushed the hosts by keeping them scoreless in the opening quarter, and kicked eight goals to one in the first half to build a 46-point half-time lead.

The Bulldogs made a better fist of things after the main break, who also kept the Demons scoreless in the last quarter, but the damage had been done.

Sixth-placed Turvey Park (5-7) badly needed a win to apply pressure to teams like the Tigers and Demons just above them on the ladder.

But their poor record this year against teams above them in the standings continued, Ed Perryman's five goals spearheading the Demons' victory.

The only sour note for the visitors was a collarbone injury to Joe Perryman in the third quarter, and the young half-back will have scans this week.

Aside from Jayden Klemke (knee) the Demons fielded close to a full strength team after the return of some of their prime movers from injury.

Their previous absence has given fringe players valuable senior experience in the run to finals, adding to their depth. And they showed they can hit the scoreboard against the Bulldogs, having based their winning streak on contested football and intensity.

"The first half we played probably our best footy we have for the year, but to Turvey's credit they bounced back in the second half and made it a struggle," Demons key player Nick Perryman said.

"We've got a bit of confidence in a few of our players now, and we're backing each other in.

"Everything worked well in the first half forward of centre with Ed kicking five goals, Blake Harper playing really well and our backline was really solid.

"We've only just started to get pretty close to our full side in at the moment. Losing Jayden (Klemke) hurts and Joe, but apart from those two we're just about at full strength.

"We've covered (injured) blokes all through the year, which has held us in full stead."

It's worrying signs for the Bulldogs, who have been blown off the park in games or certain quarters at regular intervals across the season.
