"How long will we still have to contend with potholes?" Is the question Dr John Carstens is asking the Wagga Council.
"It comes and it goes. When the sun comes out they they come and fix it and each time it rains it just gets deeper and deeper every time," he said.
"I can tell you this has been going on for at least two to three months."
Wagga City Council did Facebook post on Friday that road work is planned for the intersection to begin on Monday, but only weather permitting.
"We'll be carrying out road repair works on Old Narrandera Road at the Pine Gully Road intersection. Work will be from Monday 26 July to Friday 30 July 2021, between 9am to 3pm, weather permitting," the Facebook post said.
But Dr Carstens believes the council should be doing a better job when patching the road, not just doing a quick fix.
"Heavy traffic due to new housing developments in Gobbagombalin, Estella Rise and Estella Heights, and the opening of the Estella Plubic School is only one reason for the poor road conditions," he said.
"However, the main reason is surely the inadequate method of maintenance and repairing of the potholes. Repairing potholes quickly is important but to repair it the correct way is more important."
It remains to be seen what works are carried out by the council on the intersection, but Dr Carstens believes the road will have to be completely rebuilt to avoid this reoccurrence.
And if the road is only minorly patched up again, a serious accident awaits as the rain keeps unveiling more and more potholes.
"I am of the opinion that the area of road on both sides of the intersection will have to be rebuilt to solve the present depression of potholes," he said.
"At some time there is going to be an accident... people can get injured and can die from potholes and next thing there are lawsuits against the council, but of course they are not listening.
"They aren't repairing the road properly, doing it right the first time... I urge the Council to stop promising us better roads and by the way, a traffic light at the Old Narrandera Road and Colin Knott Drive intersection is also still outstanding. It's time to start delivering."
But this intersection isn't the only current concern, with potholes currently evident on Trail Street and in other locations throughout Wagga.
And in a further blow the planned Dunns Road upgrade has been pushed back.
