Harry Fitzpatrick has been called upon to fill the void of former Weissel Medal winner Ben McAlpine.
The teenager will line up in the centres for Young as they look to end their run of outs against the top two sides at Twickenham on Saturday.
With the Orange-based McAlpine unable to travel for the clash with Tumut due to the city's snap lockdown.
However coach Nick Hall is confident Fitzpatrick is the right man for the job.
"He's a young bloke with a big body who has been playing centre all year," Hall said.
"He's a good edge back rower or centre and he will be up for the job."
With Nayah Freeman and Boro Navori still not right, Hall also weighed up Tom Bush but believes Fitzpatrick's defensive skills will be a big bonus.
Tumut took a 30-18 win when the teams last met and Hall is looking to focus on their ruck defence in what is expected to be muddy conditions.
"We need to be ready as a team to handle it," he said.
