A Wagga woman accused of setting a house fire that claimed the life of a person trapped inside has made a deal with prosecutors and pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

Jennifer Louise Hay, of Tolland, set fire to a house in Kooringal when two people were inside in early 2019.
The tragic incident claimed the life of 36-year-old Kylie Green, who was inside the Tichborne Crescent home with another woman at the time, who managed to escape out of the burning home safely.
Originally, Hay was charged with murder and intentionally destroying property with intent to endanger a life in 2020 following a police investigation into the fatal fire.

The 48-year-old is in custody and appeared at Wagga Local Court via video link on Wednesday.
Her solicitor entered pleas of guilty to fresh changes of manslaughter and intentionally or recklessly damage property by fire/explosive.
In light of this, the Department of Public Prosecutions representative said the original charges of murder and intent to destroy would be withdrawn.
Emergency services were called to Tichborne Crescent shortly after 6am on February 25, 2019 after a blaze broke out.
By April that year, investigators had labelled it a homicide, and Strike Force Burrow was established find out what transpired.
Over the next 15 months, police put out multiple appeals, including releasing CCTV footage, in an attempt to piece together the circumstances leading up to the fire.
Strike force investigators claimed the fire had been allegedly lit on purpose, and Hay was arrested at a home in Tolland on May 21, 2020.
At the time of the arrest, police alleged that after a dispute with the occupants of the home, Hay set fire to a lounge at the front of the home and fled.
The case will now proceed to Wagga District Court for sentencing.
Hay's case has been listed for mention on August 13 where a date for a sentencing hearing will be set.
