Yesterday, the Victoria government declared all of NSW and the ACT would be classed as a red zone under the state's traffic light system, effectively closing the border.
It is the third time the border between NSW and Victoria has closed in just over a year.
Even more cases are expected today.

Neither Police nor the government said whether checkpoints would be set up at every border crossing or whether they would simply continue mobile compliance efforts.
NSW border bubble residents can continue to cross into Victoria without a permit, but must be able to show proof of address.
They have been asked to remain within the bubble in Victoria and not travel further into the state.
