The Wagga's side season looks to be stuck in reverse despite still holding onto fifth spot after a second heavy loss to top-five rival in as many weeks.
Coming off a 36-4 loss to ladder leaders Tumut, Kangaroos had few answers up Young on Saturday.
Instead to was the Cherrypickers who took advantage of a number of opportunities gifted them to take control of the clash on the way to a 60-0 win.
However with games against Southcity, Tumut and Gundagai on the horizon coach Nick Hall is hoping his side can continue to step up to the challenge.
"We play all the sides above us now and we will get a realistic gauge of where we are at," Hall said.
"You can get a false sense when you have some big scorelines.
"It is never as good as it seems and it is never as bad as it seems and sometimes you need a dose of reality.
"We've been putting the same sort of points on these sides that the Southcitys and the Tumuts are and all you can do it play the side in front of us."

Southcity have won both clashes between the two sides this season to sit two points ahead of Young ahead of Sunday's game at Harris Park.
While Young showed off their tryscoring ability, holding Kangaroos scoreless was the most pleasing aspect for Hall.
Kangaroos were denied a try for a forward pass midway through the first half and it was as close as they would come to breaching the Cherrypickers.
"It was good to keep a shutout for the points differential and for our confidence," Hall said.
"Those games don't always present themselves and we've leaked a few weak points this year so it was good we didn't leak."
Another was seeing Mitch Prest made his first grade debut off the bench.
Prest was given plenty of opportunity to impress after Aaron Slater re-aggravated a calf complaint.
"He was really good, held his own and he's got a nice offload and can use his feet," Hall said.
"I'm not surprised as he's a very good player."
Slater will miss the clash with the Bulls however Hall expects to have Inoke Vunipola back.
Nayah Freeman is another possibility after missing the last two games due to back tightness.
Meanwhile Kangaroos, who had two debutants of their own, will need to regroup ahead of a clash with Temora at Nixon Park on Sunday.
Josh Elworthy started at fullback while Will Hurst came off the bench.
The Dragons are one of the teams looking to knock Kangaroos out of a finals berth.
