Well now Wagga TAFE is giving locals an opportunity to do so, offering a Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice course for the first time ever via a virtual classroom.
The Certificate IV is now the minimum requirement to gain a real estate agent certificate of registration.
Jacob Gooden, a Sales Consultant at Fitzpatricks Real Estate, said this is a fantastic opportunity for those wanting to dive into a rewarding industry.
Mr Gooden only recently completed his Certificate IV and was unable to complete it with local support.
"Having it [the Certificate IV] in Wagga is going to be awesome," Mr Gooden said.
"I don't think a lot of people know the ins and outs of what a real estate agent does and how good a job or I guess a lifestyle it could be.
"I think a lot of people see the exterior of it and maybe potentially make a judgement from that.
"But I think once you get into it and you have a love for property, a love for connecting with people and really making a difference in people's lives, I think something like real estate is a really good career."
Mr Gooden's passion for real estate extends from his old man, Paul Gooden, who is a Director at Fitzpatricks.
"I have wanted to be in real estate since I was a little kid. My Dad, he is actually a Director at Fitzpatricks and he had worked for a couple of local businesses in real estates prior," he said.
"You know being a young kid, seeing him do that is something I always wanted to do. At times I wasn't sure I was going to get an opportunity but I did a few years ago and it has been the best decision I have ever made."

Mr Gooden said it will be beneficial for those doing the course to know others that are completing it simultaneously.
"Absolutely [I would have done it locally], just to have some other people around me that are there going through the same thing, online learning is not always the easiest," Mr Gooden said.
"You know I think just to have the support there that the course is offering and obviously TAFE NSW do a great job, so I think it is going to benefit the community a lot.
"Probably not only new agents and people wanting to get into the industry now, but also the existing ones that have to change over to the new course."
Enrolments are currently open for the course, which begins on 12 July.
