The Griffith club stretched their winning streak to nine with arguably their best performance of the season in the top of the table clash at Forrest Hill.
Hanwood were able to get on the board inside the opening seven minutes when awarded a controversial penalty, where Daniel Johnson made no mistake.
Both teams then peppered the goals in one of the best halves of football this year, before Anthony Agresta made the most of an opportunity just before half-time to put Hanwood 2-0 up.
It was soon 3-0 when Johnson scored his second just after the break. Chaise Donetto got on the end of a good through ball to seal the win for Hanwood after 62 minutes.
Hanwood coach Brian Bertolin rated the win up there with one of his team's best efforts of the season.
"Yeah, I think that was a good performance," Bertolin said.
"I probably expected them to throw a lot at us, and they did, so I'm pretty happy with that. In the conditions too, it's a bit boggy and it's hard to play the game you want to play so it was good.
"We obviously got the penalty early and then their keeper pulled off four really world-class saves, he was fantastic, but it was one of those games where you wonder if you don't take your chances and they get a goal then the whole game changes.
"We settled down a little bit and started playing our game and got that second goal. Getting that goal early in the second half probably relaxed us a little bit. Getting those goals relaxes us and probably takes the wind out of their sails as well."

The win consolidates Hanwood's spot on top of the ladder. It puts them eight points clear at the half-way mark of the season.
"It's an old cliche but we just want to take it week by week. We just want to win every game, really," Bertolin said.
"At the end of the day, we're not going to throw a game, that's for sure. We approach every game with the same attitude and the boys want to win every game. The best thing about it is a couple of blokes were a bit off today and other guys stepped up."
Johnson was strong up front of Hanwood, while Joey Schirripa was lively through the midfield before going off late in the second half.
Chaise Donetto provided plenty of spark out wide, while Andy Gamble and Daniel Andreazza controlled things in defence.
Nathan Trindall enjoyed a fine game in goals for Henwood Park, pulling off a number of brilliant saves, while Matt Cain was dangerous.
The loss dropped Henwood Park to third spot on the ladder.
