The ladder leaders hit back from their lone loss this season at the hands of the Wagga club with a 36-4 win at Twickenham on Saturday.
Kangaroos lost fullback Jake Mascini and centre Jordy Little to hamstring problems at training on Friday night before Luke Ingram was forced off with an AC joint issue.
However coach Simon Woolford did not want to hide behind their setbacks.
"I know we lost a couple last night but we still had a good enough team to do well," Woolford said.
"It's certainly not an excuse. They played the conditions a lot better than us, the conditions weren't great but that's what they thrive on and we're at the opposite end of the scale.
"We weren't allowed to play any real footy and that's what you need to do against them and where we were successful earlier in the year.
"Full credit to them - they were way too good."
Things don't get much easier for Kangaroos who host Young, who have beaten them twice so far this season, at Equex Centre on Saturday.
