Olympians to visit city for underwear launch

AUSTRALIAN swimming champions Stephanie Rice and Eamon Sullivan will visit Wagga on January 25.The Olympians will be in the city to launch Davenport's Australia Day underwear range to be sold at Big W from 11.15am.Rice and Sullivan will be signing autographs and sharing stories of their swimming success with fans and shoppers at The Marketplace store in celebration of Australia Day.Wagga is unique in the underwear industry, consistently recording high numbers of underwear sales compared to other centres across NSW and Australia.It is the city's passion for undergarments that prompted Davenport to hold the launch in Wagga and bring Rice and Sullivan to the Riverina.Triple Beijing gold medallist Rice said she was looking forward to meeting her Wagga fans."Wagga is an amazing city with lovely people and there is no better place to be celebrating the lead-up to Australia Day," she said.Rice also managed three world records during the 2008 Olympics while Sullivan formerly held both the 50m and 100m freestyle world records before winning two silver and a bronze in Beijing.Details are still being confirmed about the day, with a range of exciting activities to be held involving the swimmers and fans.In partnership with Davenport and Big W, The Daily Advertiser will be running an exclusive competition to win a range of Australia Day sleepwear.
