A HOSPITAL PARKING PETITION WOULD GAIN SOME TRACTION
To the people who live in streets adjacent to the Wagga Wagga Base Hospital, or in streets in close proximity to the hospital: if a petition is instigated to get the hospital car park built to the original design I definitely will sign it.

I think the areas in front of your homes should not be considered as hospital parking areas. I'm glad I live on the other side of the railway line.

PRAISE FOR BOY FROM MARRAR WHO BECAME OUR DEPUTY PM
The social media pages are awash with criticism of the Deputy Prime Minister.
Well, I for one want it on the record I've never met a team player like Michael.
Michael took on the role of deputy with great leadership. From the moment the Liberals voted for Scomo, Michael made it clear they needed to work with the Nationals and deliver for regional people.
In fact, holding up the appointment of the Prime Minister after the Liberal spill until the Liberals agreed to key policies for the bush. From then on, Michael was instrumental in leading the bushfire response when Scomo was overseas.
Michael was also instrumental in implementing a fair and equitable response to the coronavirus pandemic, which we all benefited from.
Michael has faced off threats from China as part of the National Security Council and Australia is on track to deliver its largest trade surplus ever this month.
Michael has led the equitable spending of almost a trillion dollars in pandemic and economic stimulus for all Australians.
He's just a bloke from Marrar. Honestly, what more can a guy do as the Deputy PM?
If the only reason people are critical of him is that he wasn't charismatic enough and didn't want John Barilaro on his team, we should all hold our heads in shame.
Politics is about the community and what has been done for them.
Personally, I take my hat off to the guy.

SUMMIT 'SORTS THE SHARKS FROM THE FISH' ON CLIMATE
Thanks for another great article Ray Goodlass [Prime minister embarrasses us at the G7, The Daily Advertiser June 22].
I noted that Scott Morrison says achieving net zero emissions as soon as possible is Australia's preference. He must of had trouble pushing that one out. The G7 talks seemed to sort the sharks from the fish.
Australia has the opportunity to continue to develop expertise in renewable energy and innovative technologies that other countries will demand.
We will be left behind unless the Morrison government follows the lead of other countries in prioritising serious action on climate change.
Morrison needs to decide if Australia will be merely a puppet on the world stage with our economy squeezed by international pressure or a part of the main act. It's possible we may still have a choice but not with current government.
The show will go on regardless, if we don't act now our part will be chosen for us. A smart government would take the lead.
