Yeo qualified equal first at the NSW Clay Target Association (NSWCTA) State Sporting Clays Carnival to win selection in the NSW team.
Yeo shot 92 of 100 targets to take a share of first prize.
"Robert's a natural shooter," Wagga Clay Target Club secretary Brad Kidd said.
"He's fairly good with any discipline, any type of firearm, and shot well again on the weekend."
Southern Zone, consisting of shooters from Sydney and Canberra, took out the event by eight targets from Riverina.
There was 61 shooters each day, with the visitors from Victoria leading the way.
"The weather was great and the quality of shooters there was very good," Kidd said.
"The guys from Victoria came to keep everyone honest and they wiped us clean, really.
"There were good scores all around, even from the beginners and lower graded shooters."
Michael Reed, Rick Mathers, Max Payton and Shane Roberts were among other locals to shoot well at the two-day event.
