A 2-0 loss to Leeton United last round dropped the Lions to third place and they need a win against Hanwood to guarantee they will stay in the top four.
Hanwood continued their undefeated start to the season with a come-from-behind 3-1 win over Lake Albert before the long weekend bye, and now return home for the showdown with Young.
Hanwood coach Brian Bertolin acknowledges how difficult Young can be as opponents.
"I don't think we had beaten them until the semi-finals last year, and that was the first time we had beaten them since we came back," Bertolin told The Area News.
"They have a very good set-up, they tend to sit back and play a counter-attack which they do very well, and no doubt we will have to be on our game."
Hanwood will be without Jordan Austin but will otherwise be full-strength.
