A number of popular show tunes from the likes of Cats, Phantom of the Opera and A Chorus Line will be performed this weekend by students from Riverina Dance Academy during their mid-year showcase.

The showcase is Broadway themed, and principal Anne Reardon said nothing could have been more fitting.
"Every year we do a showcase in the middle of the year and we decide at the end of each one what the next year's theme will be," she said.
"We didn't realise that Broadway in New York would be shut down the whole time, and so it's coincided really nicely with them just announcing Broadway is going to return.
"We're bringing a little bit of Broadway to Wagga before New York opens back up."

The dance academy's 2020 mid-year show was cancelled due to the pandemic, so students are especially excited to show off their tap, jazz and contemporary talents this year.
Twelve-year-old Alexa Franke, who is performing in nine items this weekend, said that she was most looking forward to wearing fun costumes and hanging out with her friends backstage.
"You get to express yourself and be yourself," she said, explaining why she loves to dance.
"You can dance freely; there's no right or wrong," 11-year-old Tilly Rumbachs said.
Dance teacher Abbey Rumbachs said that the youngest student performing this weekend is six-years-old, all the way up to 20-years-old.
"It's showcasing all of our hard work throughout the first half of the year," she said.
"It's really good for everyone, it's such a family show that anyone can come in and watch."
The showcase will be performed at Wagga Civic Theatre on Saturday, June 19 at 2pm. Tickets are available for purchase at the theatre's box office, where you can also purchase tickets for a livestream of the performance.
