The Wanderers enjoyed their second win of the year on Sunday when they downed Tuggeranong United 3-0 at Gissing Oval.
The win came despite the recent setback of some season-ending injuries that has the Wanderers' depth tested to the maximum.
Gray used the Wanderers' latest win as an opportunity to call on players from the local Leonard Cup competition to get a taste of the NPL.
"We've picked up a number of injuries, which has tested our depth. We'd like to get some new players on board, if we can," Gray said.
"We'd like to open it up to players from the local competition if they want to challenge themselves. It's a good opportunity for them. We've had five, six injuries that have resulted in players no longer being able to play this year."
Gray pointed towards the likes of Wanderers trio, Ava Tuksar, Piper Lockley and Samantha Emma, who were selected in a Young Matildas trial match earlier this year, as examples of the opportunities that can open up at the club.
"Sammy is proof of it. Same as Ava and Piper. And we're looking for more players to take the next step and push through," he said.
"What we would like to see is a couple of players from the local comp step up and support the program. There is enough players in Wagga that the comp would stand on its own anyway.
"As a club we're aware of the huge commitment, two nights a week training, travelling to play away in Canberra, home games on a Sunday here. We're aware of that. But we're a supportive club and we want to give opportunities. If there's someone out there thinking about it, now's the time to do it."
The Wanderers debuted 16-year-old Bree Lyons in Sunday's win, while fellow teenager Ebony Warner-Chilstone made her starting debut in goals and kept a clean sheet.
Christina Grauer-Kompos scored twice, while Megan Castle found the back of the net for the sixth time this season.

"A really good all-round performance from everyone that played," Gray said.
"We had young Bree Lyons start the game for us. Ebony in goals, she's another under 17 that started first grade (on Sunday) so that was good. Ebony kept a clean sheet, so that's pretty impressive, in NPL. She was very good.
"When you look at our defensive line, they're all 16 or 17, and they're all very confident and very capable footballers.
"We played well, we defended well, good combination play, which we've been working on at training. All round it was really good and I cannot fault any of the players that played first grade or reserve grade (on Sunday)."
The only sour note to the win was a hamstring injury to Kiralee Cameron, who Gray said has been 'absolutely outstanding' for the Wanderers this season.
Gray also thanked the lower age groups, particularly the under 17s, for their support.
"It is a challenging season but we're enjoying it. The girls are enjoying the season despite the challenges, they're taking them in their stride and forging ahead," he said.
