Riverina won eight and drew one of their ten games, the only loss against eventual champions Sydney South West, who boasted eight players from the strong Westfield Sports High program.
Riverina coach Jennifer Vine said the team showed a lot of guts after not getting any opportunity to train before the tournament.
"We were supposed to have a practice match the week before but it got rained and we had had to cancel it. The first game of the tournament was the first time these ten girls had played with each other," Vine said.
"Their ability to not drop their heads was important. There were games when we were down by a couple of goals and they didn't give up."
