The Thunder jumped to sixth on the Group Nine ladder after overcoming an early challenge from Brothers at Equex Centre on Saturday.
Albury scored a 40-12 win over the Wagga club two weeks ago, but were in for a much bigger challenge this time around.
The two teams went into the break locked at 12-all and Thunder coach Adrian Purtell was pleased with the second half response to keep their rivals scoreless.
"I thought we were all over the shop early on, gave them opportunities early on and Brothers are a good enough team and if they get enough energy to build on the back of it," Purtell said.
"There is lots of improvement for us next time.
"We needed to lift at half-time and I think in patches we did but overall it wasn't a complete performance."

The 30-12 win was the border club's third from eight games so far this season.
Two of them are against winless Brothers, with the other a come-from-behind win over premiers Gundagai, to see them sit just outside the top five.
With five of their last eight games at home Purtell is looking to capitalise starting with a crucial clash against fifth-placed Kangaroos at Greenfield Park following the general bye.
"It's going to be a big back end for us with five out of eight games at home so we've got every opportunity to keep going on in this competition but need to keep winning games," Purtell said.
However he's looking for a better attitude from the side after it was their rivals who had plenty of opportunities in the first half.
Cade Price scored the first of his two tries after intercepting a kick on his try line before racing away to score.
After Mason Fuller was sin binned early it took the Thunder a while to settle into the clash but two tries in three plays soon had them in front.
Jeremy Wiscombe got them on the board when he crossed out wide.
Curtly Jenkinson then made a break off the restart and while the Brothers defence scrambled to bring him down they couldn't stop Robbie Byatt scoring on the next play.
Brothers hit back as Cade Price crossed for his second just before half-time.
Jon Huggett put Albury back in front nine minutes into the second half before Jenkinson doubled their lead when he scored with 17 to play. Huggett then sealed the win as he stormed over for his second with two minutes to play.
After a promising display against competition favourites Tumut last week, Purtell is looking to ensure the side has the right mindset heading into their next clash.
"We turned up with the right attitude against Tumut and maybe there was a bit of complacency as we had a good win over Wagga Brothers two weeks ago," he said.
"In any first grade competition you can't disrespect a team and while I'm not saying we disrespected Wagga I don't think we turned up with the right attitude and it showed in the first 50 to 60 minutes."
