But after some soul searching, and the return of some handy players, the Demons have responded with back-to-back wins after a third quarter assault set up a 17.12 (114) to 7.6 (48) win at Leeton-Whitton on Saturday.
After winning a slugfest 27-25 against Turvey Park a fortnight ago the Demons welcomed back some troops against the Crows, including Blake Harper who booted seven goals.
The Corowa-Rutherglen-contracted Matt Klemke returned to play a cameo with the Ovens and Murray on hiatus due to COVID, and was one of the Demons' best with two goals.
Collingullie-Glenfield Park led by just two goals at half-time, but booted 8.5 in the third quarter while keeping the Crows scoreless.

They have now moved to 3-3 and are in the Riverina League's top five before next week's tough assignment against unbeaten Mangoplah-Cookardinia United-Eastlakes.
Leeton-Whitton's remain with just one win for the year, and the defeat was compounded by a shoulder injury to livewire Bailey Wood.
Demons coach Brett Somerville has been rapt with his side's response since the 57-point loss at Narrandera.
The wins over the Bulldogs and Crows are crucial given those sides are among their rivals for a finals spot.
"Obviously the concern after the Narrandera game was where we were at as a club. We turned that around pretty quickly thankfully and to be able to put a couple of wins back-to back is handy," Somerville said.
We've got a few players out but it was definitely a concern, Narrandera played very well."
Ed Perryman also managed four goals against the Crows.
"After half-time we got the structure of our forward line right and the football coming in a little bit better," Somerville said.
"There was also a harder work rate around the contest, and some smarter decisions going forward.
"It gives us a bit of confidence going into a big game next week like Mango. They're a yardstick and they're playing great footy.
Somerville said having Klemke back in the side helped their rotations, and also helped Klemke given he hadn't played for several weeks through injury.
"He helped with our midfield rotations, and it's good for him because he's coming off a hamstring injury that has kept him out for quite a few weeks." Somerville said.
"It worked really well for him."
