Scientifically, the red moon will be a combination of a super moon, when the moon reaches its closest point to earth's orbit, and a blood moon, which is caused by a lunar eclipse.
For Wagga's spiritual-minded however, the event goes far beyond an unusual sight in the sky.
Director of the Natural Health and Healing Centre Janine King explained that for followers of a holistic spiritual connection to the earth and astrology, the super blood moon is a rare and powerful event to be celebrated.

Where many will be heading onto their decks at 9:11pm to to watch the evening's sight at its most visible, Ms King and members of the centre will be gathering from 6pm for a healing lunar ceremony.
"Tonight being the full moon eclipse and a super moon it's quite a big event in our ceremonies," Ms King said.
The ceremony this evening will involve written exercises to release pent up anger and emotion, sage-burning and meditation around crystal grids.
"It's very powerful, it's karmic release and forgiveness, letting go of stuff that bungs you up," Ms King said.
Over 11 years in the industry, she said the holistic and spiritual practices have become more and more popular in Wagga.
"People are more open minded and seeking connection, particularly since COVID," she said.
As for what followers of astrology can expect from tonight's event, she said unfortunately there is plenty of turbulence written in the stars.
"We have two eclipses, we're in mercury retrograde and two planets are clashing so we're in for a bumpy ride," Ms King explained.
She claimed signs that will be disrupted by the events more than others will be Sagittarius, Aries, Gemini, Leo, Libra and Aquarius.
