Fire and Rescue NSW Station 311 Griffith were called to the Murrumbidgee Estate housing development on the southern edge of Griffith at 2.42am after initial reports suggested that a house was on fire.
Fire and Rescue NSW Zone Commander Stewart Alexander said that firefighters were able to quickly bring the vehicle fire under control and the incident was over by 3.25am.
"Upon arrival crews found the vehicle to be alight and quickly got to work to extinguish the flames," Station 311 Griffith posted on Facebook.
"Crews were able to ensure that the fire did not spread to the eave of house, but unfortunately the car suffered extensive damage to the engine bay area."
