It has been a mixed start to the season for the United side with two wins, a draw, and a loss from their first four games, and they will now hit the road for the next three weeks.

They aren't the only MIA team to be spending a month on the road with rivals Hanwood in a similar position, but Leeton coach Frank Alampi chose to take a positive spin on the fixtures.

"We have a few on the road now," he said.

"I was talking to some of the Hanwood boys, and I know they aren't happy, but there is also a good side to it of getting them out of the way early.

"If it means in the cold of winter we don't have as many away games, that's a good outcome. We have a better record at home than we do away over the last couple of years, but we will just get on with the job."

Alampi is dealing with a few injury concerns, which were highlighted by a small turnout for Tuesday's training session.

"We have a few injuries and had a few boys away from training last night, which wasn't ideal," he said.

"I think we only had half of the team there. Hopefully, we will be able to get a good turnout on Thursday, and we will be able to have a chat about a few things and work on some things.

"We are hoping the injuries will be right for the weekend. A couple of them won't be 100 per cent, and it is a pain in the bum having those niggles so early in the season.

"We have lost one of the new fellas to the club in Nico Grassi who has got a really good job offer up in Queensland, so that is a big loss for us."

Lake Albert will present a tough challenge for the Leeton side, and Alampi hopes his side will rise to the challenge.

In an inclusion that will help their cause, the Leeton coach hopes to have Jarrod Sillis back on the park.

"He trained last night (Tuesday), so if he gets through Thursday night, he will come back in," he said.

"That will help us out because he helps us play football from the back, and Jake Shelton has done a pretty good job there, but we can use him elsewhere if Sillis does come back."
