Police are on the hunt for a man who allegedly tried to break into a local business by smashing the front door with a sledgehammer.

The incident comes just three days after medication was stolen from the pharmacy in another break and enter.
According to police, a male approached the front entrance of Pat Zirilli Amcal Chemist on Banna Avenue at about 3am on Tuesday.
A witness saw the man, who was wearing a white jumper, swing a sledgehammer at the business' glass door multiple times, cracking the glass.

The witness called police, who arrived at the scene at 3.07am, however the person of interest was no longer in the vicinity.
The front entrance of the business was significantly cracked but intact and the man did not manage to enter the premises, police say.
The witness told police the man had walked back towards Olympic Street shortly after his attempts to break the door.
Despite a number of patrols, police were unable to locate the person of interest.
Three days earlier on May 15, the front door of the business was smashed and "some medication" was stolen in a separate break and enter.
Police did not confirm if they believed the two incidents to be connected.
Police are now canvassing CCTV footage of the area and investigations are continuing.
