Kala Southwell said she had only purchased the silver Hyundai Tiburon about two months ago before it was seen driving away from her house on Bourke Street, without her permission, just after Midnight on Friday.
"We have CCTV footage of the person crouching near the car before getting in and driving away, they were pretty rough pulling out too," she said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Now left without a means of getting around town, Miss Southwell said she has had to rely on her mother.
"Mum has been helping me get around when she can to work and appointments and such, but she shouldn't have to," she said.
"It has been pretty rough."
While police were called to the home that morning and given the CCTV footage, Miss Southwell said she was told they had not located the culprit yet.
"Apparently people aren't burning cars out so much anymore, either, it's more that they strip them of parts to on-sell," she said.
"I put about $3000 into that car and even put a brand new Alpine head unit in it which was $1200, so I really hope I get it back in one piece."
