"We were rehearsing for a show in May last year, but then we had to put it all on hold because of COVID," said drama teacher Michael Mack.
"Coming out of 2020, it feels like we're a phoenix rising from the ashes so we've decided to call it Phoenix Rising."
Last year, restrictions on gatherings and performances came into place just weeks before the opening night, making the school's show impossible and thwarting the hopes of its cast members.
The variety show will feature 85 students from years 7 to 12 performing anthems from the 60s, 70s, 80s and present day. Four year 12 students will return to the stage after missing out last year.
"There's a real range, there's some Queen, Ed Sheeran, Pink Floyd, U2, some Doris Day for the grandparents, a bit of ballroom dancing, some hip hop," Mr Mack said.
"For the students who love the performing arts, it's been a hard year but these kids are coming alive again."
The opening night took place on Thursday from 7pm, with repeat performances every evening as well as a matinee before closing night on May 22.
