The $33,000 Ladbrokes Graeme Hull Memorial Cup will be the feature of this year's lucrative carnival that kicks off on Friday night.

The Wagga club has injected an extra $20,000 into the prize pool for this year's Cup, along with increases in many of the supporting races, making it the richest ever carnival.

The Cup will this year feature four heats worth $2930 on Friday night, with the first two dogs home booking their spot in the final the following week.

This year's Cup will see the winner take home a whopping $25,000.

"It's massive," club secretary-manager John Patton said.

"It's the biggest ever and has gone from $13,000 to $33,000. We put another $20,000 into it, and extra money in the heats and other races."

The increases prove the club and the industry is going from strength-to-strength at the moment.

"I think so. We're doing something right," Patton said.

"The club is always trying to do something for trainers and owners. Not only the Cup to attract the better dogs but the locals will have a chance at winning the better money for the other races.

"This has come about due to the work of previous workers and committees who had non-TAB meetings. Now we've got a TAB meeting we can have a lot bigger event, which is all thanks to them and they're easily forgotten."

Leading trainer Correy Grenfell is bringing two dogs for the Cup, headed by the well-performed Yozo Bale. Grenfell has drawn box one with both Yozo Bale and Wendalin Bale, and will bring along a number of other dogs for the supporting races.

His wife, Samantha Grenfell, is also bringing a big team and has six entered in the Cup heats.

Shannon Ellis' Keenando will lead the charge of the locals and has drawn box one in the first heat.

Other well-performed dogs to be among the heat runners include Incapacitated, Winlock On Top and Second Exit.

"We've drawn dogs from Sydney and Melbourne, which is exciting," Patton said.

"We've got four heats, seven dogs per heat, and the other races are full.

"We've not only got city dogs, who are very good and people will follow that, but those kennels will come with other dogs for the supporting races as well.

"We've tried to put things on for the racing fraternity on the track, as well as plenty of things off the track as well."

The first of 11 races will get underway at 7.05pm on Friday night. The card will also feature heats of the Men Of League Agro Challenge and the Wayne 'Butch' Pertzel Memorial.
