FIRST - Mathew Cahill (Inverloch $31) - Very tough horse. Trent said he's only ever won by leading so be quite aggressive out of the gates. He said he's very fit, he said he won't stop on you. They took us on a little bit early but from about the 1200 I backed off and had a couple of cheap sectionals. I upped the ante again from the 800 metres, but full credit to the horse, he knuckled down and tried his heart out right to the line.
EQUAL SECOND - Nash Rawiller (Spirit Edge $4.40) - Great run. I settled a pair further back than I would have liked but got plenty of time to wind up. He came into the race really well but full credit to the winner who just kept finding.
EQUAL SECOND - Damien Thornton (Yonkers $ 3.90 fav) - Ran well just couldn't get the leader.
FOURTH - Rachel King (Paths Of Glory $4) - Really super run was just a bit slow out of the gates and gave the others a bit of a head start but rattled home really well.
FIFTH - Kathy O'Hara (Maid Of Ore $31) - Her effort was really solid, she just lacks a little turn of foot but is very tough.
SIXTH - Robbie Dolan (Mr Marathon Man $9.50) - He run really well, was just a bit keen in the middle stages of the race, wanted to hang in a bit and just tired in the last 100 metres but it was a good run.
SEVENTH - Jeff Penza (Upper House $101) - From the wide alley had to go back, travelled really well throughout the race, was gone coming for home but once he straightened up he picked himself up.
EIGHTH - Campbell Rawiller (Knights Order $13) - Really happy and I think the horse will be able to step up in trip now, take a good fitness edge and off that run will set it in for a really nice prep.
NINTH - Blaike McDougall (Huntly Castle $15) - It was honest. He's probably just off that grade as half the field is metropolitan Saturday stayers.
TENTH - Tommy Berry (The Lord Mayor $17) - He was a bit plain late so we'll have to see how he pulls up in the stable.
ELEVENTH - Jason Collett (He Runs Away $21) - Wide run and just battled late.
TWELFTH - Ellen Hennessy (The Doctor's Son $101) - Race wasn't really run to suit him after he missed the kick but settled well. He was a bit flat in the straight.
THIRTEENTH - Bradley Vale (Blazing Zone $151) - If he didn't run yesterday he probably would have had a nicer run but he was just gassed out.
FOURTEENTH - Brendan Ward (Roland Garros $151) - Had a beautiful run in transit after getting to the one-one but just found the quality of the race too strong.
