The Cowra trainer was only having his second runner in two years when Catanzaro ($6.50) stormed to victory in the Wagga RSL Club Country Maiden Showcase Plate (1200m).
Catanzaro was wide throughout but still unleashed a blistering turn of foot in the straight to race away and score by one and a half lengths.
Mathew Cahill continued his strong carnival with the win, with Albert The Cat ($10) second and Bombulla Boy ($5.50) third.
Catanzaro had his first run for his new stable when luckless at Wagga last month and Parsons was pleased to see him put it together.
"He was a bit unlucky last start. I don't know whether he would have won but he would have made it interesting and he's really come on since that run," Parsons said.
"I worked him on Monday morning and I thought they don't work any better than that."
