After COVID thwarted plans for last year's event, over 500 students took part this year.
With The Riverina Anglican College's junior school joining the fold there were over 500 students taking part.
NRL development officer James Smart was pleased with the day.
"The interest in the competition just grows and grows each year," Smart said.
"I think in a year or two the challenge will be green space as we've just got so many kids who want to play.
"It is great for the game."
South Wagga Public, Lutheran and Henschke Primary Schools qualified for the tackle finals while St Joseph's Primary 1, North Wagga Public, Kooringal Public 1, Lake Albert 1, Henschke 2 and Henschke 3 progressed in the leagutag.
The finals are on June 22.
