After electing to sit out last season, the Dragons got back to winning ways against Albury at Nixon Park on Saturday.
Temora never trailed in the clash and finished too strong to take a 24-10 win.
Co-coach Josh McCrone was pleased to get on the board.
"It was good to get the win," McCrone said.
"The more wins you get early the less you need later until you get to finals and it's a totally different ball game."
After playing in reserve grade, Tyler Madden backed up to produce a double on the wing.

Temora used their interchange three times during the clash with McCrone impressed with the workload of a number of his players.
"We were a bit short staffed due to injuries so we played with three interchanges all game," he said.
"It's a massive effort no matter who you are playing in Group Nine.
"With only eight teams nothing is an easy win, everyone stands up for a period of the game so that's pretty big for us.
"The boys out there were doing a great job, they were digging in so we didn't have to change anything."
Kris Rands was one to standout in the front row with his 80-minute effort.
Another bonus for the club is they managed to get through the clash unscathed for the first time this season.
"We didn't have to take any one off through injury using those three interchanges so everyone got through for the first week so we've played a game in the pre-season," McCrone said.
"That is probably the biggest positive out of it."
Temora are out to take another step when they host winless Brothers on Sunday.
McCrone is looking for the side to improve each week.
"We're heading in the right direction," he said. "All we want to do is keep improving each week and I'm happy with the direction we are going in."
Meanwhile Albury will chase their first win when they host Gundagai at Greenfield Park on Sunday.
