Big names in comedy like Wil Anderson and the Umbilical Brothers will have the city in stitches over the Queen's birthday long weekend at the Wagga Civic Theatre.
Theatre manager Carissa Campbell said one comedian's return has been long awaited.
"Wil Anderson was one of the headliners in our 2017 Wagga Comedy Fest, when he famously got arrested on his flight here," she said.
"His show Wilegal was built around this event, so it is very fitting that he performs his show here, where it all began."
IN OTHER NEWS:
Other comedians taking the stage include Geraldine Hickey, Nat's What I Reckon, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival roadshow, ABC Radio's Thank God It's Friday, Nurse Georgie Carroll, Nath Valvo, Shad and Pete, and the Riverina Comedy Club.
The popular Winter Markets will also be back, with hot food, drinks and entertainment from Thursday to Saturday.
Ms Campbell added that there was an extra bonus this year.
"The great thing is you can use your Discover vouchers from the NSW Government for the shows, so the tickets for some become free, five or 10 dollars," she said.
Comedy Fest director and comedian Dane Simpson said this year would give audiences a new type of laughs.
"I really wanted to have some acts that people can check out which they wouldn't normally go to, so it's a little different, a little off-beat," he said.
"My advice is to go to anything and everything you possibly can, you'll have a great time."
