This weekend, we see the start of the Riverina League and Football Wagga, joining the Farrer League, Southern Inland Rugby Union and the mighty Group Nine competition up and going.
There is plenty of feeling expected when Turvey Park host Coolamon in the Riverina League season opener on Saturday. It will see the return to Maher Oval of former Bulldogs co-coaches Jeremy Sykes and Mark Carroll, less than 12 months after they departed for Coolamon.
There is also Leeton-Whitton hosting Wagga Tigers, a replay of last year's AFL Riverina Championships grand final, while Collingullie-Glenfield Park host Griffith and Narrandera welcome Ganmain-Grong Grong-Matong.
In Group Nine, there is only the one Saturday game, as Temora take on Gundagai at Laurie Daley Oval in Junee. On Sunday, Southcity host Albury, Kangaroos welcome Tumut and Brothers travel to Young.
Farrer League have plenty of big games. North Wagga host East Wagga-Kooringal in a replay of the 2019 grand final. The only meeting of round one winners happens at Peter Hastie Oval between CSU and Marrar. Northern Jets host Barellan, while Coleambally have plenty to play for when they travel to take on The Rock-Yerong Creek.
