After the Demons took last year off a handful of older heads won't return from their 2019 campaign including Ben Absolum, Ned Mortimer and Luke Gestier.
Somerville has reacted by making Nick Perryman, Jayden Klemke and Dan Frawley assistant coaches and said they'll be crucial in helping guide a much younger team this season.
"Those retired guys would have been good to lead our team on and off the field, but it does present an opportunity for other guys like Nick Perryman, Jayden Klemke and Dan Frawley who can all step into that void," Somerville said.

"We need the likes of Ed (Perryman), Chad (Fuller) and Harry Radley to help lead and not rely on the senior boys.
"They've showed signs so far they'll do that, which is great. The group is pretty honest with each other, which we encourage."
