Two men have been charged with street racing on a suburban street in Wagga on a public holiday.
About 5pm on Friday, police were conducting a stationary speed enforcement operation in Ashmont when officers spotted a Mercedes-Benz and a green motorcycle travelling "well above the signposted speed limit of 50km/h".
A NSW Police statement said the drivers were going 128km/h and were stopped by officers.
The Mercedes driver, a 25-year-old Glenfield Park man, and the Kawasaki motorcycle rider, a 21-year-old Kooringal man, were charged with taking part in a street race and exceeding the speed limit by more than 45km/h.
Both the driver and rider had their licences suspended on the spot and vehicles confiscated for a period of three months.
Police said the drivers are responsible for the towing and holding fees.
