They will join 14 practices in the region announced earlier this month as part of the Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network's "phased on-boarding" of 70 GP clinics.

MPHN acting chief executive officer Julie Redway has announced that eligible people in Junee, Corowa, Moama, Howlong, Tumut, Leeton, Temora and Finley will have access to local vaccinators.

"For those people whose regular general practice is not administering the COVID-19 vaccination, you are able to access the vaccine from a Vaccination Hub which are located in Wagga, Gundagai, Young, Deniliquin and Griffith, or at another participating practice in your local community," Ms Redway said.

"Vaccinations are free, and if you have any concerns about your individual circumstances, we do recommend making time with your usual GP to discuss these."

MPHN pandemic lead Alison Koschel said there had already been high demand for vaccination appointments during the first week of the phase 1b rollout.

"We know people are very keen to receive their vaccine with the week one general practices and the five Vaccination Hubs reporting they are receiving many enquiries and appointments book out quickly," Dr Koschel said.

"It's certainly encouraging to see this level of demand already and I would also ask people to be patient. There will be enough vaccines for everyone and as more general practices commence vaccinating over the coming few weeks."

Those eligible for the vaccination under phase 1b include healthcare workers currently employed and not included under phase 1a; critical and high risk workers currently employed; people over 70 years of age; Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people over 55 years and people over 18 with an underlying medical condition, including disability.
