The Bulls escaped unscathed with injuries as they blew out the cobwebs against a Hawks side who didn't play last season due to COVID.
"We went pretty well, we showed some good glimpses of good footy but there is still a couple of errors we can work on before the first round. That's what we'll be working on the next few weeks," Rose said.
"As a team we played well, there was a few blokes who stood out individually but the pleasing thing was we worked well as a unit.
Hopefully we should go OK. It's going to be a strong comp, so we'll have to wait and see. There was no injuries, which was pleasing."
In other trial results the new-look Kangaroos may give coach Simon Woolford a few selection headaches after some fringe players impressed in Saturday's trial win over Queanbeyan Blues.
The Kangaroos were missing a handful of first grade regulars and the Blues were a little depleted due to Country Championships representation, but Woolford said they got plenty out of the 60-minute hitout.
"The match probably showed we've got a little bit more depth than we thought, which is exciting," Woolford said.
"At the end of the day the score is irrelevant, both teams had a few players out and I'm approaching things (selection-wise) with an open mind."
