The Blues were down by 20 points at half-time but fought back to win by 10 points at Jerilderie last Saturday.
The trial is Coleambally's only practice game ahead of their round one clash against Charles Sturt University and co-coach Curtis Steele believes there was plenty of positives to take from the hit-out.
"It was pretty good. We were down by about 20 points at half-time and won by 10," Steele said.
"We had a few missing. We had about eight out from our first grade side and had a few second graders playing. We didn't have a bench either, which didn't help, but everyone who played got a good hit-out."
Prized recruits Guy Orton and Jade Hodge were among those to impress.
"Hodgey kicked a couple of goals and Guy got plenty of the footy. They went well. It was a windy, miserable kind of day," Steele said.
"Guy and Hodgey just give us a few more older heads, which is good. We'll be able to have an older head across each line and then we've got the youth from Griffith to mix in around it."

Orton finished his time at Griffith across half-back but will feature as part of a new-look midfield at Coleambally.
The Blues will now turn their attention to fine-tuning at training before hosting the Bushpigs at Coleambally on April 10.
"We'll only have the one hit-out but we've had a few intra-clubs and had 40 or 50 there, which is really good," Steele said.
"I think one hit-out, that's enough. We've got a lot more balance this year and a lot more depth, which is good. I'll be disappointed if we're not top three, well that's what we're aiming for anyway."
Hodge will miss the round one clash due to suspension, while key defender Tom Morton will be away for the first two games.
