A man whose car was stolen and set alight found out about the incident while scrolling on Facebook, police say.

The 33-year-old Griffith man told police he had left his black Holden Cruze in a secure location on Marcus Street on March 4 because the vehicle's registration had expired.
In the early hours of Wednesday March 10, Griffith fire crews were called to a car fire on Garton Place and arrived to find the car "well alight".
Fire crews then extinguished the blaze.

Later that day, the Griffith man saw a picture of the car fire posted on Facebook and recognised it as his Holden Cruze.
The man immediately attended Griffith Police Station where he reported his car as stolen.
Police say the man believes his car must have been stolen, and he does not know how it ended up in Garton Place or how it was set on fire.
Car towed after collision
A car had to be towed following a collision with another vehicle on a Griffith roundabout.
Police allege a Land Rover station wagon was travelling north along Beale Street at about 2:47pm on Saturday March 13.
According to police, the 51 year old driver entered the Binya Street roundabout without checking to his right and collided with the front of a red Mercedes Kompressor.
The collision caused significant damage to the front end of the Mercedes, as well as some damage along the right side of the offending Land Cruiser.
No one was injured in the accident, though the Mercedes had to be towed from the scene.
The two parties exchanged details and reported the incident to police.
Continued break and enters
A currently unused Griffith property has allegedly suffered repeated break-ins.
According to police, between 5pm on March 11 and 8am on March 12, a Heath Crescent property was broken into and a wooden window frame and glass panel were damaged.
Argyle Housing own the property and are currently attempting to renovate and restore the property.
Police say there have been numerous reported and unreported break and enters at the building and property has been stolen and removed from a large wall that had been made in the rear wall.
