So often this season the Warriors have had wins with the mercy rule applied, but, on this occasion it was Turvey Park who had the mercy rule applied.
Warriors' coach, Justin Kearnes, chose to start with Layhnee Kearnes on the pitching plate and Turvey's first two batters, Charli Hall and Leila Wadley, each had outfield hits in a bright start.
Both were scored when Paris Hall also hit safely to the outfield before the innings closed.
The Warriors went one better in their responding innings, with Jess Swaysland, Kristy Tenison and Montana Kearnes all crossing the plate.
After a poor start to their second innings, Turvey had a two-down rally, with Charli Hall and Leila Wadley again scoring to give Turvey the narrowest of leads, and this was maintained with a shutout in the Warriors' second dig.
Turvey kept up their consistency, again scoring two runs in the top of the third.
The Warriors kept in touch when the Kearnes sisters, Montana and Layhnee both scored after hitting safely to the outfield.
For the first, and only, time in the game, Turvey was shut out in the top of the fourth, giving the Warriors an opportunity to go ahead. However, despite hits to Jayla Nix and Jess Swaysland, no runs were scored.
Indeed, smart fielding by the Turvey players saw a further two shutouts of the Warriors, while Turvey added another four runs in the fifth and two in the sixth.
Safe hits were registered by Charli Hall, Amanda Lenon and Leila Wadley in this period, whilst a couple of uncharacteristic fielding errors assisted Turvey's cause.
The Turvey win was achieved without their two longest-serving players, Amanda Gooden and Jane Wadley, who may have to work hard to retain their positions in the team.
