Spackman's exciting two-year-old Rocket Tiger is a $13 chance with the TAB in the $250,000 group two race.
Late on Friday morning, the track was rated a heavy eight with showers forecast across Friday and Saturday.
Rocket Tiger has had two wins from his two career starts, including on a soft track at Randwick on Boxing Day and the trainer is as happy as he could be.
"It's not ideal but in saying that, he's trialled on heavy track (before his first race start) and he trialled nice," Spackman said.
"I've given him a gallop on a genuine heavy at Leeton one day and he handled that quite well.
"It's one of those things (an unknown)... but geez mate, I'm going!"
Rocket Tiger has drawn barrier two and will again be ridden by Kathy O'Hara.
Spackman said with a chuckle that the gelding might be too naive to work out whether he wants to prefer different surfaces or not yet.
But the trainer has the excitement of a budding two-year-old himself at the end of a big week.
"I'm just rapt and I can't wait to get there," Spackman said ahead of the Saturday morning trip to Sydney.
"It's massive. It's been massive ever since we won in town on Boxing Day."
The Silver Slipper is at 3.20pm.
On a huge Saturday for the stable, Tocatchacod is in the $150,000 SDRA Country Championships Qualifer at Wagga (5.40pm). He'll be ridden by Wagga jockey Josh Richards.
