A resident of Lakeside Drive in Lake Albert, who wished to remain anonymous, reported that a silver Nissan four-wheel drive vehicle had been stolen from their home overnight on February 12.
Riverina Police District Acting Officer in Charge of Wagga Police Station Stephen Marshall confirmed the incident, and said the vehicle was found shortly after.
"The vehicle was only found about 50 metres up the road from where it was taken, and it had smashed into a parked Mazda utility," he said.
"So the vehicle has been recovered, but has sustained significant damage."
Police are now investigating the incident, calling on anyone with information or security footage to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or Wagga Police Station on 6922 2599.
