Despite the apparent ease of the win, the score was not indicative of the performance of the two teams but the fine pitching performance of Montana Kearnes was a key factor in the win.
She conceded only one hit, a leftfield single from Phoebe Wadley, in seven innings and in offence made base three times from four times in the box.
Turvey pitcher Paris Hall also performed well as she shut out the strong-batting Warriors in four consecutive innings after a Layhnee Kearnes home run batted in Montana and gave the Warriors a 2-0 lead.
For the next four innings it remained as scoreline however a couple of fielding errors from Turvey allowed Montana Kearnes to score in the top of the sixth giving the Warriors a 3-0 lead going in to the final innings.
Hits to Kristy Tenison and Jess Grant saw both of them score, leaving Turvey five behind with just the one innings left.
Turvey lead batter Amanda Donohue hit the ball well, but was snapped up by Layhnee Kearnes at left field before Alex Maiden and Paris Hall were removed to complete the innings.
The Warriors will meet Saints in a mid-week game on Wednesday, while Turvey will face Saints on Saturday.
