Just before the heavens opened the students relished a return to competitive action, despite the fact no spectators or non-competitors were able to be on hand during the day due to COVID protocols.
"We were very blessed to have the event we did before the bad weather came through. It was a competitor only carnival and the kids did an outstanding job adjusting to that," sports coordinator Blake Cunningham said.
"It's a bit weird for them but they're just grateful they're competing again. The past 12 months most events have been cancelled so it's great for them."
