Instead of being in the classroom they were in the swimming pool at Oasis where Fletcher Gregurke was the star of the show.
Gregurke set four new records on his way to taking out the senior boys age championships.
Gregurke set new marks in the 50 metre freestyle, breaststroke and backstroke events as well as the 100m freestyle.
While he dominated his rivals, the competition was hot in the 11 years boys age group.
William Stapleton (50m freestyle) and Jack Pope (50m breaststroke) both set new records in the division while Stapleton, Pope and Matt Suckling all went under the previous 50m backstroke record.
Pope came out on top to take the record and help him win the age championship.
Delilah Griffin also set a new mark in the 10 years girls 50m freestyle.
It was a different start to the year, but carnival co-orindator Simon Shields was thrilled with how students embraced the carnival.
"They all enjoyed it, their behavior was excellent and we had good parent support and helpers," Shields said.
Bishop (red) took out the house championships from Fatima (blue).
