AFL premiers Richmond were set to go head-to-head with Western Bulldogs at Lavington Sportsground on Saturday, February 27.
That clash is now in jeopardy after the AFL announced it will revise the Community Series schedule.
Originally, all AFL clubs were to play two games in the series. That has now been dropped to one in order to 'safeguard the health and safety of the competition and the community' by reducing travel in the lead up to round one.
Clubs will be allowed a second pre-season game in the lead up to round one but it will not be part of the AFL Community Series.
AFL NSW-ACT regional manager Marc Geppert explained that it was too soon to know the fate of the Albury fixture.
"The AAMI Community Series schedule has been reduced to one match per team to safeguard the health and safety of the community," Geppert said.
"Updated fixtures are being worked on and will be released shortly.
"The AFL will keep everyone informed as soon as possible."
The Albury fixture will be set for a change of date, at the minimum, with the new Community Series schedule to be spread across March 3-7.
The game was set to showcase the newly-upgraded Lavington Sportsground.
